We maintain the highest standards of integrity in everything we do.
Our Ethics and Compliance Programme is designed to foster an organizational culture that is committed to ethical conduct and compliance with relevant legal requirements wherever we operate in the world. We work with tens of thousands of business partners worldwide, including suppliers, authors, customers, agents, and government officials—and take great care in our selection process. Our Partner Code of Conduct sets out how we expect all business partners to work, consistent with our mission, ethical standards, and principles.
We do not tolerate bribery or fraud of any kind. Our Anti-Bribery and Fraud Standards affirm our approach, and our belief that the fight against bribery and fraud is in the broader interests of business and civil society.
Everyone at OUP has a part to play in upholding our principles and regular ethics and compliance training is central to our success. All colleagues engage in a series of training activities annually, including:
- Completion of our ‘Doing Business Ethically’ course
- Certification of understanding and compliance with our Code of Conduct and Ethical Policies
Our Code of Conduct outlines a way of working that is consistent with our principles and standards and helps colleagues to make good decisions every day. We review, revise, and reissue this every year.
We strive to provide an environment where all colleagues and business partners can report ethical concerns safely and confidentially. Concerns can be directed to members of the Group Ethics and Compliance team or via the Speak Up channel, which is managed by an independent third party.
